The Festival of Colours at Country Roads
Old monk or Blenders Pride? The first question that we have been asking each other since school days while planning for the Holi outings.
We are a group of 13 friends and for the last 10 years, we have never missed celebrating Holi together. Weirdly, we don’t even bother to meet on other occasions. But during Holi, we seek each other just like we used to seek KFC chicken during childhood hunger pangs.
Anyway, moving on to the Holi celebrations, we have been celebrating Holi in different states of India owing to our diverse locations. And last year it was time to celebrate in the city of joy Kolkata. After rigorous research, we ended up booking a resort near Kolkata to celebrate Holi together.
We were not sure of the kind of hospitality and experience we will have in the resort, but now I can surely say that we have had our best Holi experience at the Country Roads.
Situated just 20kms away from the city of joy, Country Roads was our destination last year for a Holi party.
Unlike all other destinations that we have selected, Country Roads had much more than we could imagine.
Firstly, the passes were quite affordable. The deal was quite attractive to us, not because we can’t afford costly places, but just because we are Bengalis. Spending money is not something that we are fond of. But we need quality services at the same time and Country Roads served us more than we had expected.
Being a foodie, I would love to start with the food served there.
There were unlimited Kebabs and Biriyani that we gulped in like the hungriest creatures on earth. The food deserves that as it was irresistibly delectable. Tender and juicy kebabs along with flavoursome Biryani – The aroma already surrounded the entire place and we were hungry since we entered.
Moving forward to the venue... It was glamorous and lit with the enchanting and positive aura of the people present at the party coupled with the glory of the manmade excellence, yes the resort. The crowd was very descent and it took away the fear we had with few women in the gang. Safety and security were amazingly handled and graciously taken care of by the staff.
We had a poolside party with a very talented DJ and the music was unrivalled. We all danced to the tunes of love, colours, and life.
People present at the venue were charmed by the ambience; My friends and I were overwhelmed at the best Holi party ever.
International liquor, lip-smacking food, and mind-boggling lush green lawns with the splashes of colours all around - We were already at the heavenly environment amidst the serenity of nature.
It was also drizzling that day, which made the party more than just fun. Usually even during Holi parties, after getting drunk, one of my friends Rahul keeps talking about his exes. This was not the case last time, thanks to the amazing aura at the Country Roads – We all axed our exes and forgot every stress of life.
And the one annoying friend, whom you will find always on the phone, had switched off his mobile. Woohoo! Country Roads.
The resort has something so unique in the air. More than just love and happiness, the place has the feeling of life and during Holi, the mesmerising hues developed such strong bonding. We enjoyed it like it was the last day of our lives.
Oh, wait! I am getting a call.
Rahul Calling.
Hi, what’s up, bro?
Rahul: Abey it’s Holi next month!
Ha yaar.
Rahul: County Roads ja rahe hai na?
Aur kya?
We are all set. What about you?
