Country Roads comes forward to fight against COVID-19
These are unprecedented times we are seeing. The COVID-19 virus outbreak has literally brought this country to a stop. Lockdown period has been extended and the government has advised everyone to stay home. In these difficult times, Country Roads has come forward and given a helping hand to the local community.
With everyone following social distancing, self-quarantine is a number one priority if anyone experiences symptoms of corona virus. But in reality, this is easier said than done. Many families do not have an extra room to spare where a member can quarantine successfully without coming in contact with other family members. Lack of space is a major concern in homes that are modest apartments.
For people who can afford the charges, many hotels in Kolkata are providing clean and hygienic rooms for self-quarantine. For people who do not have the space or amenities to self-isolate at home can check into one of these pay-and-use quarantine hotels. By doing so, you also minimize the risk to your families. Country Roads resort in Howrah is on the official list of paid Quarantine Hotels as notified by Govt. of West Bengal.
All necessary steps have been taken by the team at Country Roads to make this lockdown situation better for other people. Being located amidst natural greenery, guests who choose to spend their quarantine days at the resort can do so freely. They can enjoy the open air without the risk of running into other people. Guests also have access to amenities like Wi-Fi access and room service to make the stay more comfortable. The tranquillity of the place is perfect for a few days of isolation.
Mr. Tamal Ghoshal, Founder & Director of Country Roads, and his team have also been busy carrying out various social responsibilities for their local community. The worst-affected by this sudden lockdown are the families of daily wage labourers. With all factories and markets closed, these families are suddenly out of a livelihood. Team Country Roads has been actively delivering food and ration to these families in need, enough quantity to last each family for 7-10 days. More than 500 families have been helped in Raghudevpur, Basudebpur, Santoshpur, Ketopol, Belkulai, etc. under the Raghudevpur GP Area.
On 13th April, 2020, Country Roads joined hands with Netaji Sangha Club to arrange a free lunch for more than 350 individuals at Shree Shree Jogmaya Primary School in Raghudevpur. Two days prior, Country Roads also delivered essential ration at Sahapur Gram Panchayat premises to the residents of Khoijapur and Chak Belkulai villages in presence of Sailen Khan, Prodhan and Sariful Laskar, Up-Pradhan.
With these small but significant acts of kindness, Country Roads has been doing its own share in this fight against the COVID-19 situation.
